About Us

Mission
We are dedicated to Christian values in our service as we provide quality, holistic care to individuals and communities in Southeast Arkansas

Vision
Daughters of Charity Services of Arkansas is a community-based health and social service organization sponsored by Ascension Health. In the spirit of St. Vincent DePaul, we apply the principles of Jesus and the Catholic Church in caring for the whole person: body, mind and spirit.

We are committed to providing accessible and affordable primary health care and social services in an atmosphere of respect and kindness. We strive to remove the barriers that limit or prevent anyone from obtaining needed care or services.
Believing that Christ is present in those we serve allows them to see Christ in us. We recognize that only by serving others will we be able to show and experience the love of God.

Our History
In late 1980’s, the Daughters recognized the need for Healthcare services in the Delta.
The first medical clinic, St. Elizabeth’s, opened on December 3, 1990 with humble beginnings in the remodeled old Gould jail. DePaul Health Center was acquired on August 10, 1992, making our second medical facility.

In September 1998 the Wellness Center was opened in Gould to provide an exercise facility to the residents of southeast Arkansas. Today it continues to be used by residents from across southeast Arkansas.

In 2000 a new state of the art facility was built in Gould to house our expanded ministry. We acquired the dental practice of Dr. Charles Woodyard, a long established dentist in Dumas. Dr. Woodyard and his staff added a much needed component to our ministry work.

Our latest expansion has occurred in Dumas. In February of 2007 we moved our administrative offices out of the DePaul Health Center and into the newly renovated Adams Building, on Main Street.
